Arcade lobby · two games · free forever

Step into the neon arcade.

Neon Games is a small lobby of free, open-world browser games — Dead Zone and Neon Police. No install, no account, no backend: pick a cabinet and it runs entirely in your browser, and keeps working offline once loaded.

The wall of cabinets

Two games, one neon city engine

Every cabinet below is a full open-world game that runs straight from your browser tab.

Free & fully offline — nothing to install. The Android .apk is sideload-only (allow installs from unknown sources).

Endless survival

Dead Zone

Endless zombie survival in an open city that never stops generating. No timer and no end — the horde escalates as you level.

  • Kill to level up, spend coins at the wandering merchant
  • Weapon wheel, rarity tiers, throwables & melee
  • Bullet time, vehicles, map & progress panels

Why it feels like an arcade

Built to play, not to install

Both cabinets share the same no-friction philosophy.

Runs in your browser

Powered by WebGL in any modern browser — no download, no launcher, no store page.

No account, no backend

Nothing to sign up for and no server to call — your session stays entirely on your device.

Offline-ready

Once loaded it installs as an offline app and keeps working with the network unplugged.

Open world, both ways

Procedurally generated cities for survival and for patrol — the world keeps generating as you roam.

Every key rebindable

Play with mouse and keyboard or touch — and change any binding in Settings → Controls.

Moddable content packs

Drop a plain script in mods/ and add one tag — no server, no build step. Packs are validated on load.

Three moves

How it works

From landing here to playing takes about as long as reading this line.

1

Pick a cabinet

Choose Dead Zone or Neon Police from the wall above. Each opens its own page.

2

Click to play

The game generates its city and drops you straight in — no download step, no waiting room.

3

Survive or serve

Level up against the horde, or work the crime map and rack up arrests. Come back any time.

Live demo

Both games are playable right now

These are the real games, served from this repo — not a video. Open one and it boots in your browser. Works with mouse and keyboard or touch, and runs offline once loaded.

Illustration, not a screenshot — press play for the real thing.

NEON GAMES

Get started

Just press play — or run it locally

You need nothing but a browser. Developers can clone and serve the games themselves.

The hosted games above are ready to go. If you want to run the source yourself, serve the game folder over HTTP — browsers block JavaScript modules on file://, so double-clicking index.html will sit on the loading screen.

This is exactly the guidance in each game's START-HERE.txt: serve over HTTP, then open the local URL. The game also installs as an offline app once loaded.

Questions

FAQ

The things people ask at the arcade door.

Do I need an account or to install anything? +

No. Both games run entirely in your browser with no install and no account — you just open the page and click play.

Is it really free? +

Yes. Both games are free to play under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 — share, study, mod and fork them, but credit Dr. Sohil Momin, don't use them commercially, and pass the same terms on.

Does it work offline? +

Once loaded, yes — the games install as an offline app and keep working with the network unplugged. There is no backend involved.

What can I play it on? +

Any modern browser with WebGL, on desktop or phone. It works with mouse and keyboard or touch, and on phones you get an on-screen stick and buttons.

Can I change the controls? +

Yes — every key can be changed in Settings → Controls in each game.

Can I make my own content? +

Yes. A content pack is a plain script that registers itself — drop it in mods/, add one <script> tag, and it loads with no server and no build step. Packs are validated on load, so a malformed one is skipped rather than breaking the game.

What are the games built with? +

Both are built on the Neon Engine, which is MIT licensed separately so you can build your own commercial games with it.
